Ms. Iloani is the President and CEO of Smith Whiley and is responsible for the overall management of the Firm. Ms. Iloani is a founding member of Smith Whiley. She has over 30 years of alternative investment experience. Ms. Iloani oversees Smith Whiley's investment and portfolio management activities. As the Chief Investment Officer, Ms. Iloani is a member of Smith Whiley's Executive Committee and is the Chairman of the Firm’s Investment Committee. She is an active participant on the boards of certain of the partnerships’ portfolio companies.
Prior to forming Smith Whiley, Ms. Iloani was a Managing Director in Aetna Inc.'s Investment Department where she was a member of Aetna's Investment Committee. Ms. Iloani directed investments in excess of $4 billion on behalf of Aetna and its affiliate companies. Throughout her career at Aetna, Ms. Iloani managed a $9.2 billion portfolio of private placements in the broadcast and media, health care, industrial, capital goods, defense, financial institutions, insurance and financial services, transportation and utilities sectors. She was also responsible for secondary trading of private placements.
Ms. Iloani has a long history of civic involvement and philanthropy through her active associations with a wide variety of organizations. Ms. Iloani has received many community service and business leadership awards from both local and national organizations.
Ms. Iloani has a B.A. from Colgate University and an M.B.A. from the University of Hartford.
