TEAM
Mr. Evans is responsible for deal flow development, investment selection, and portfolio management. He is a member of the Investment Committee and serves as a board member and board observer for certain of the partnerships’ portfolio companies.
Mr. Evans brings over 17 years experience in private equity, financial services and business development experience to Smith Whiley. Prior to joining the firm, he was a principal and co-founder of Transition Capital, a deal sponsor that targeted investments in lower middle market service and manufacturing companies throughout the Northeast. Prior to this, Mr. Evans was a partner at Great Hill Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm with more than $1.5 billion of assets under management and a private equity professional at M/C Partners, the predecessor to Great Hill Partners. Prior to entering the private equity business in 1995, Mr. Evans was a National Banking Officer for Shawmut Bank.
Mr. Evans holds a B.S., cum laude, in Finance and Economics from Boston College, and an M.B.A with a concentration in Finance and Entrepreneurial Studies from The Anderson School at UCLA.
